Australia is well organised for family trips and allows to travel in all freedom by hiring a vehicle. Roads are safe, locations well-appointed and everywhere you will find attractions suited for every age. Besides great landscapes, one of the most thrilling experiences is to meet some of the local fauna, especially for the younger ones. This itinerary begins in Perth where you can cuddle a quokka on Rottnest Island and a koala or wombat during a tour of the Pinnacle Desert. At Kangaroo Island you will have a close encounter with many kangaroos, koalas, sea lions, New Zealand fur seals, echidnas, different birds, reptiles and penguins. In Sydney you will join a whale watching cruise and in Uluru a sunset camel ride. In the Cairns region you could meet crocodiles in the Daintree River or if you are lucky the elusive cassowary and many of the animals that inhabit this forest at night. Your holiday won’t be completed without an excursion on the Great Barrier Reef where you can snorkel among tropical fish of any kind, giant sea turtles or even a small harmless reef shark.
